Life-Shifting | Program Information

Each coaching program conducted by Dr. Hull or one of his partners is customized according to the specific needs of the individual. Below are some examples of the kinds of issues/projects that we undertake in collaboration with our clientele.

Conduct a life assessment

When have you ever taken time to step off the “treadmill of life” and reflect on where you are in your life or more importantly, where you are going? With just a few simple questions, a rich dialogue unfolds in which you find yourself re-connecting to the deepest, most hidden parts of yourself. As you get to the heart of the matter, you may just find your way back to your soul’s passion and desire. Here are just a few examples of the questions that could change your life:

     - Are you thriving in your life, or surviving? What is the difference?

     - What do you want MORE of in your life? What do you want LESS of in your life?

     - What do you love? What one thing could you change that would put a smile on your face?

     - What is the one thing that holds you back from living your dreams?

Break out of destructive patterns

Consider the famous adage: "You can never get enough of what you don’t want." What does it mean to you? How does it apply to your life?

With the life-shifting approach to life change, the keys to breaking out of what appear to be intractable patterns are: 1) Re-frame your perspective; 2) Change the terrain; 3) Expose the lie; 4) Play at the edge.

Re-frame your Perspective: try to see your behavior through a different lens. For example, if you always judge yourself as "bad", consider how the so-called bad behavior is actually supporting you in some way (e.g. smoking calms your nerves; eating creates a feeling of comfort). Begin to see how you are just taking care of yourself in a way that "robs Peter to pay Paul." Consider forgiving yourself and lightening up.

Change the Terrain: habits and patterns are always part of a bigger systemic and environmental context. Look at the bigger picture situation where the so-called “bad” behavior takes place and seek out ways to make even small, incremental change. Take a vacation. Paint your apartment. Clean out the fridge. Get a pet. Re-decorate. Small changes in context can create unknown openings in content (behavior).

Expose the lie: seek out people you know and trust (which may start with a counselor or coach) and start telling the truth about your so-called "bad" behavior or decisions.

     - What was the motivation or desire that got you started in what turned out to be a “bad” direction?

     - What about the behavior or decision is actually making you happy (but perhaps you are unwilling to acknowledge)?

     - What is the truth about your reluctance to change…or move on…or take a different path?

Only by letting go of the judgment and opening up to the truth of our actions and thoughts can we begin to break down the walls that keep us stuck in place.

Play at your Growing Edge: take a risk and try something new connected to your so-called "bad" behavior or decisions. Push the envelope – even if it is in what appears to be the "wrong" direction. Often, a simple SHIFT in perspective and a leap of faith are all that is required to transform your situation, re-energizing and motivating you to become the person you most deeply know yourself to be.

Unearth your passion

     - Do you know what your deepest passion in life is?

     - Do you know your life purpose?

     - Do you have a vision for your life?

These are often the most difficult questions to answer when you think about making a life change or heading out into today’s challenging job market. The answers may not come easily or directly, but they always start in the same place: the realm of fantasy.

Fantasy, or conscious dreaming, is the key to diving below the surface of the practical ego consciousness (that part of us that focuses on paying the rent!) and tapping into the SOUL level of consciousness—unleashing the world of possibility that lies dormant in us all.  The life-shifting method provides an abundance of techniques to access the world of fantasy within—the place in your soul where dreams are born.

Design a roadmap for success

Ah, but you say, it is all well and good to have a fantasy, a dream, even a clear vision of where your passion may be and what you want to manifest in your life—but how do you make it happen? The obstacles are mighty in this material world of ours, where the focus is on making enough money to survive and feed the kids, as opposed to living out our deepest passions. But, some people manage to have both—practical success in the real world and work they love. How do they do it?

First of all, they get focused on their dream and clearly visualize the goal. Secondly, they create a roadmap and follow it with discipline. Thirdly, they get help. No one has ever manifested a life of abundance, passion, and success without the help of others.

Life-Shifting is a program of personal growth designed to manifest your deepest potential in the real-world, by supporting you in carrying out each of these key steps: define the dream, craft a roadmap and enlist the support of those who would be your champions. Armed with these tools, you can be sure of success!
